I’ve been tremendously inspired and excited by my new line of women’s clothing, a fashinonable line I’m calling T-Shirt 2.0. It’s taken my commitment to reusing and recycling even further than simply creating pillow forms and appliques out of old t-shirts. I’m still using these same raw materiels and including other womens shirts that have gone out of fashion and style.I’m using up to three or even four different items per shirt, de-constructing them and then rearranging them together. The result is a unique, one-of-a-kind fashionable shirt or mini-dress, multi-coloured and multi-layered. Then I add one of my funky silk-screens to round out the design.
The response has been tremendous and my booth at the Duncan Farmer’s Market, Vancouver’s Make It Show, and this past weekend’s Mother’s Day Paint-In at Royal Roads University was chock a block with shoppers. They practically cleaned me out and I’ve been spending my days creating new shirts for each upcoming weekend’s Market days. I’ll be in Duncan on Saturday the 15th and Government St. in Victoria on Sunday. Come visit me there and pick up a T-Shirt 2.0 for yourself.
